Brian Raman saw off Ryan Meikle 6-2 to make the second round of the
International Darts Open in Riesa.
'The Riddler' spoke afterwards just over a year on from switching to the PDC after being the WDF World Number One and said that it's been difficult.
"It's very tough. When I was playing the WDF, I stepped into a building and I knew I was the best player ranking-wise so I felt more comfortable going into the game. Now I'm just one of the 128 so it's very tough but I need to live with it," said Raman to Online Darts.
"If I don't make the top 64 this year, I will try again next year."
He also described the difference saying that often you can get a good easy draw in the WDF, while in the PDC, early 90's averages are not enough.
"It's just at the WDF, you have a few games to warm up. That's what you don't have on the PDC circuit, that's what makes it so tough. If you have a 92 average, you can lose. On the WDF, it depends on the draw. You can have an easy 4-0 win, now you can easily lose 6-0 if you have a 92 average. That's the big difference."
