Raymond van Barneveld could make his return to the World Matchplay after moving into the provisional qualifying spots for the Winter Gardens and the legendary Dutchman who opened his account at the International Darts Open is dreaming.
"After the Worlds, the Winter Gardens or the Premier League is the best. Premier League is awesome, every single week these crowds they are amazing but to be back in the World Matchplay would mean a lot to me. I'm working hard, I've progressed, I believe in myself," said Van Barneveld to Online Darts.
Seeing off Stephen Burton, he admits being frustrated with not taking his practice game onto the stage but despite a late mini comeback from Burton, he was pleased with the win.
"Sometimes it's really hard, if you do so well on the practice board like 140's and 180's and go on that stage and hit 59, 60, you're thinking huh. That messes your head up and I think I was a bit fortunate that Stephen didn't play his A game."
"I gave him a chance, I should've been 6-1. You start believing in yourself and I hit three 140's and a good finish so I'm happy with the win."
