The next few months will be hard fought for participation in the PDC World Darts Championship. This year there will possibly be four or even five Belgians there.
In recent years, Belgium has usually been represented at the PDC World Darts Championship by the trio of Dimitri Van den Bergh, Kim Huybrechts and Mike De Decker. Also this year they are already sure of placement for the World Championship. Via the Pro Tour Order of Merit, Mario Vandenbogaerde (10th at the moment) will almost certainly join them.
Among other things, with several more majors (World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts, European Championships and Players Championship Finals) and also several Players Championships, there is still a lot of money to be made in the coming months for the world rankings.
Brian Raman could become the fifth Belgian at the upcoming World Championship, but for that to happen, "The Riddler," who for now is not seeded for the upcoming majors, needs to achieve some strong performances at the Players Championship. Raman is currently 36th on the Pro Tour Order of Merit and has nearly 2,000 pounds less than No. 32 Ritchie Edhouse.
That number may even increase, because through the qualifying tournament for Tour Card holders, Ronny Huybrechts and Robbie Knops also still have a chance to participate in the World Championship.
