Callan Rydz is through to face Nathan Aspinall after Christmas at the 2021/22 PDC
World Darts Championship after a superb display to down Brendan Dolan in straight sets.
Post match, Rydz called it the best he has played on TV by a mile but doesn't want to rest on his laurels now.
"I'm happy with that. It's the best I've played on TV by an absolute country mile. Again it means nothing if you play like a numpty in the next game but I'm again going to go home spend some time with the family and then Boxing Day back on the practice board ready for my next game," said Rydz post match.
But for Rydz, he believes the country will be plunged into lockdown once more so his preparation will be hampered.
"I just went to the pub two nights, did two hours with some of my friends but now I think we're going to go back into lockdown. I don't want to go back into lockdown but I think it probably will. So it'll just be practicing in the house and I'm not the biggest fan of doing that."
While he believes if he can continue to bring his ProTour game to stage, he can really ruffle some feathers.
"If my ProTour game happens on that stage, I'll be a very dangerous person to play but I'm not used to the TV yet. But when I get used to the TV, I think I will be a danger."
