Schmutzler, Rodriguez, Springer and Benecky into semi-finals on European Development Tour

The ninth tournament of the PDC European Development Tour has reached the semi-finals, as the remaining four players will battle for the top prize of £2,000.

Ranking-leader Rusty-Jake Rodriguez is among the semi-finalists after beating Lars Fransen in the quarter-finals. He will face Fabian Schmutzler in his next match. The other semi-final will go between Niko Springer and Roman Benecky.

The Development Tour is the youth circuit of the PDC. This tour is open for players aged between 16 and 23, provided they are not in the top-32 of the regular PDC Order of Merit on 4 January 2021.

Because of the corona pandemic, this circuit has been split into a separate tour for UK and European players. The Development Tour ranking is based on the prize money earned. At the end of the season, the winners of both rankings (European and UK Development Tour) receive an invitation to the upcoming Grand Slam of Darts, the World Darts Championship and a Tour Card for 2022 and 2023.
