The final Players Championship of the year was a triumph for Josh Rock, who won 8-7 over Jonny Clayton in the final. The highest average of the day was for Andrew Gilding.
'Goldfinger' was a clear 6-2 winner over compatriot Connor Scutt in the opening round, averaging an astonishing 115.12. Gilding was eventually sent packing one round later though, after a 6-5 defeat to Steve Lennon.
The second highest average came in the name of Damon Heta. The Australian beat Luke Woodhouse 6-0 in the last 32, posting an average of 112.73. Heta eventually reached the quarter-finals, where he lost out 6-4 to William O'Connor.
Josh Rock won his second Players Championship of the year on Thursday
The top three is completed by Connor Scutt. As we wrote above, the Englishman lost to Gilding in the opening round. A tough result to take, made even tougher by the fact he averaged 110.37 and it still proved not enough to win. Nevertheless, it once again indicates the particularly high level on the Pro Tour.
