Michael Smith will face off against Peter Wright in the final of the 2021/22 PDC
World Darts Championship and despite letting James Wade in at times towards the end, 'Bully Boy' got over the finishing line.
"First set dodgy, the next five I felt great. Then trying to convince myself it's one more set just to make the final was a lot more difficult than I think it seemed. For two sets, I was snatching and pulling but I'm proud of myself the way I held my head together," said Smith post match.
Now he will face Peter Wright and he hopes it's second times the charm and that he can come away finally with the biggest title on the Ally Pally stage.
"The only thing I've got running through my head at the minute is that Peter lost his first final. He came back on the second attempt and won the final, that's all I'm thinking of now. It's an omen."
"I have a chance to rectify what I did wrong in 2019. I've just got to keep my head now and not get aggressive and not break my hand at 2-0 sets down."
