Peter Wright survived against his compatriot, Gary Anderson to reach the 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship final after an absolute classic which definitely took it out of 'Snakebite'.
"I am shattered yeah. I don't know if it went to 5-5 if I had enough energy in my body or not. Lucky enough it didn't get that far," he said post match.
Knee injury
He also revealed on Sky Sports which was discussed further a knee injury which is giving him some issues.
"It's just down to practice and getting fat and too much weight. It's just a build up of liquid under my kneecap and I've just felt it. It wasn't comfortable the other day so lucky enough I brought one of those knee straps with me and I've had it on all afternoon today and through that match. It's on fire at the moment."
180 record
During the tie, he beat the 180 record producing 24 in a game but he believes he should have had more.
"I knew I hit lots of 180's but obviously I didn't know it was 24. That's really good but to be honest, it should have been a lot more."
Aiming for more than second World title
The same goes if he defeats Michael Smith this evening, for Wright, he has bigger aims for five World titles.
"To try and be a double World Champion in darts, that'd be great. In my head, I believe before I retire I'm going to win it at least five times.
