Michael Smith is through to the World Matchplay semi-finals as he looks at another chance to win his first major TV title with a clash against his mentor Gary Anderson up next.
Smith saw off in-form
Krzysztof Ratajski in a
16-13 win to open up proceedings and he spoke afterwards admitting the pressure is firmly off and that his sole aim now is to take the title home.
“Krzysztof’s a classy, classy player. I just knew I couldn’t give him chances, but every leg I found a way to give him a chance," said Smith post-match to
Online Darts.
“I’m proud of myself with the way I handled the pressure.”
"I think Durrant or Gary (Anderson) is the favourite. There's no pressure on me because I'm not the favourite."
"I've come to win it now after the Quarter-Finals. I want another crack at the title, last year I was really disappointed being 9-0 down in the final, I just want chance to be in the final."
