The final is set at the German Darts Grand Prix as Michael Smith will face Nathan Aspinall shortly in Munich with a new winner added to the 2023 European Tour Roll of Honour.
Smith ensured it wouldn't be a first time winner overall with the World Number One dishing out some heartbreak to 'The Heat' Damon Heta in their semi-final clash.
The Aussie who has been superb all weekend wired a dart at double 20 in the deciding leg and Smith stepped in to seal the deal after setting up 58 from 187 pinning the same target Heta missed.
This after he won the last two legs after Heta seemingly was in the driving seat at 6-5 with a 101 checkout for a 12-darter, but he just couldn't quite get over the line.
Now it is Aspinall who ended Joe Cullen's run in a 7-5 win to astonishingly reach his maiden European Tour final. It took him six attempts to win a semi-final with three of them coming during his 2022 resurgence.
After making it 3-3, he started to surge away with missed darts at double allowing him a 5-3 lead. He kept adding legs not allowing parity making it 6-4 before holding on double 10 after setting up double 20 from 130. But can he go all the way?
