Statistics prove: finals at Players Championship are usually exciting
The seventh Players Championship of the year was won by Michael van Gerwen. 'Mighty Mike' defeated Josh Rock 8-4 in the final.
The final between Van Gerwen and Rock was the 120th at the Players Championship since it has been played to eight winning legs. 24 times before, someone also won 8-4.
However, almost 42% of the finals saw an 8-6 or 8-7 final score on the board.

- Is this the start of an attempt to say that he (Littler) is the best ever as he has won most money. Perhaps adjust all prize money earned by allowing for inflation. - It is shocking and unbelievable that 2 Hotty who was always such a decent player, 2 time World Champion and won the Grand Slam when it meant something. He really should have joined the PDC earlier.
