Scott Williams has continued his superb run at the PDC
World Darts Championship after dumping out Danny Noppert in a big defeat for the Dutchman at the Alexandra Palace.
Noppert has not played since becoming a father for a second time with the Players Championship Finals seeing ‘The Freeze’ absent and despite saying that he’d been practicing hard amid Father Time, it was ‘Shaggy’ who prevailed.
It was the tale of missed doubles with Williams snatching the opening set with a 23 dart leg after three darts missed from the Dutchman. Again in the second set, Noppert wasted chances and handed his opponent a gift.
He wasted two set darts and Williams doubled his lead with four 180’s and 6/9 on the doubles. It was nearly perfection on the outer ring as he missed double 18 for a nine darter.
He went the show boating route too with treble 16 for a 141. He went double 10 off the 80 and his second match dart to claim the win.
