It has been a big ratings hit on television for several years now, yet
Dimitri Van den Bergh was greatly shocked when he was asked to participate in 'The Masked Singer'.
'The Masked Singer' is a music program in which famous people must dress up in a certain character and then sing songs. Then a panel of judges must try to recognize who is in the costume. Van den Bergh is known for always doing dance moves on stage, but VTM, which airs the program in Belgium, apparently also thought he would be a good singer.
"In Big Brother I would never participate," said Van den Bergh, who shared an Airbnb house in Leicester with Mike De Decker, from whom he lost in the semifinals of the World Grand Prix. "That's all just a bit too much for me anyway. But what I can say: I've already been asked for a few shows in Belgium, including 'The Masked Singer.' That would have been really hilarious. Not that I would do a great job, but I would be lol. The costumes they put those people in... And then a little singing, it would be pretty cool."
Van den Bergh has long been associated with the program, for example, just last year several people thought he was one of the contestants. "Then there was a character, a mushroom, and it looked tremendously like me," laughs the 30-year-old Belgian. "There were really so many people who thought that was me, that I was in it. And I just went along with it then. Certain friends were just really into it too. (laughs) The problem, though, is that I'm a professional darts player and the filming goes on during one of the busiest times of the year for me, so... It's hard to schedule." Maybe at some point in future then...
