"That's going to help me massively": O'Sullivan eyeing Women's World Matchplay after snapping Greaves dominance on PDC Women's Series

A two-time former Lakeside finalist, Rhian O'Sullivan has begun to make her mark on the PDC Women's Series, ending Beau Greaves's run of dominance to claim the Event Six title.

"I'm absolutely ecstatic because I don't know how many times I've played Beau and I've come second so I'm over the moon with that," the Welshwoman, who becomes the 8th different woman to win an event on the PDC Women's Series, revealed in her post-match interview. "I rate her highly. She is amazing but I'm very happy with that and helps me with where I'm standing."

Having been one of the standout players all day, O'Sullivan had beaten Mikuru Suzuki with a ton-plus average earlier in the day. "I had to regroup, I had to refocus and not try too hard, just do what I usually do and get on with it," she analyses. "I've had hard games today and it's been a long day but I'm ecstatic."

With a view to the upcoming Women's World Matchplay, O'Sullivan's win now puts her in third on the overall Women's Series rankings. "That's going to help me massively now," she admits. "I was watching it last year thinking 'I'd love to be there'. I only just about missed out last year so hopefully I get there this year."
