''The greatest? Phil Taylor. The best? Me" - Michael van Gerwen gets involved in darts' biggest debate

In football, there has long been a debate for about who is the best footballer ever; Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. Also in the sport of darts, such a discussion recurs regularly on social media and forums.

Often Phil Taylor is mentioned, but a few also mention Michael van Gerwen, Eric Bristow or even Gary Anderson. In a brief Q&A with PDC Europe, 'Mighty Mike' gave his opinion on this.

The opening question was who he thought was the greatest darter of all time. ''The greatest is Phil Taylor,'' Van Gerwen had to admit. But when asked who is the best ever, a different answer came. ''That's me."

Furthermore, Van Gerwen was asked what kind of music he listens to right before a match. ''Ooh a bit of 80s, very relaxing,'' was the answer.
