Thibault Tricole will wear logo of French football club on his shirt during World Darts Championship

Thibault Tricole has entered into a special partnership with his favorite soccer club. The French darts player is a fan of Lorient, a club in western France on the coast of Brittany.
The logo of the club Lorient will be seen on Tricole's World Championship shirt. ''I'll be wearing a special shirt with the FC Lorient logo on the back,'' the former Lakeside finalist revealed in an interview with Flashscore.
It's going to be fairly minimalist because we have a limited amount of space for communication. There will be a bit of orange, but I didn't want too much because it looked a bit too Dutch! The colour of the shirt will be glaz (the colour of the sea in Brittany), like the third FC Lorient shirt."
In the interview, Tricole indicated that he will not receive money directly to wear Lorient's logo. ''It's a communications partnership, not a financial one. However, the repercussions could be very interesting for me. The idea is to make ourselves known to their partners. I'll sometimes be in the VIP area during a few matches this season to give demonstrations. And through their social networks, they'll be reporting on my performances throughout the year."
Tricole thinks the mixing of darts and soccer is not a crazy collaboration. ''Darts is still a British sport, like football. And it's clear that in England there are also links between the players and their favourite clubs, so it made sense to link the two disciplines."
For the second year in a row, Tricole has booked a place in the PDC World Darts Championship. Last year he debuted with a 3-1 victory over Mario Vandenbogaerde, before 'The French Touch' lost 3-0 to Rob Cross. At the upcoming edition of the World Darts Championship, Tricole will play Joe Comito in the opening match of the tournament on December 15. If he wins, a meeting with reigning world champion Luke Humphries awaits later in the evening.

- Is this the start of an attempt to say that he (Littler) is the best ever as he has won most money. Perhaps adjust all prize money earned by allowing for inflation. If Littler gets close too (does not even have to overtake) both MVG’s and Taylor’s Major titles total then he is in the conversation. I would like to see more players involved on a weekly basis similar to the Modus Super Series. A knockout tournament with 16 winners from each week.
