With ProTours only seen through the streaming boards and the public not allowed into these events, the question always arises about marking on the ProTour and how that works.
In his latest video on Edgar TV, Matthew Edgar having gone through multiple iterations of different marking systems including currently during Covid discusses this.
"In normal times, we'd have markers. So we've got this team of markers, they come to the events all the time. They come along and there's a good team of them, it's the same people most of the time so you get to know them," said Edgar.
"It's the players that make the mistakes when we're doing it and we all use the DartConnect system. It's gone of the days of pen and paper."
"It was a loser marks system that you'll probably know if you go and play local events or other types of competitions. In the PDC we don't get this, there's a high level of respect amongst of the players so we don't like to keep each other waiting."
"We have a last players mark first situation. If you see someone at the bottom end of the draw in the current Covid teams in a self-mark competition, this would be the person who marks the board."
