Nathan Aspinall currently lies in fourth place in the 2023 Premier League Darts table and despite Jonny Clayton taking the night win in Berlin last week to position himself hot on his heels, the Asp is confident the current top 4 will make it to the play-offs.
"The top 4 now, and I would have said this at the beginning of the season, I still think it's going to be the top 4 at the end of season," Aspinall tells Emma Paton, Dan Dawson and Mark Webster. "I know it's easy for me to say but I think there's a few factors."
Whilst Aspinall may still be searching for his first night win, the consistency of the Asp, seeing him win seven of nine quarter-final matches has served him well. Meanwhile the likes of Clayton and Chris Dobey have both won nights but have struggled otherwise.
"Peter's struggled in the Premier League, everyone knows he always struggles in the Premier League," Aspinall says of bottom of the table Peter Wright. "It's all new for Chris as much as I would like my mate to get top 4. Dimitri, don't forget he's in Belgium so he's back and forth with the travelling and I just didn't think Jonny was playing well enough at the beginning of the year."
