Van Barneveld ahead of World Series farewell in Australia and New Zealand: ‘It will be emotional’

Raymond van Barneveld will compete in Australia and New Zealand for the final time next month as part of the World Series.
Van Barneveld spoke ahead of it and said that it’s going to be an emotional farewell and that he can’t wait to perform there for the last time.
He also gave praise to the World Series and called it important in helping grow the sport on a global level.
"It will be emotional playing in Australia and New Zealand for the last time in the PDC, I love the fans there and I can't wait to perform for them," said Van Barneveld.
"Of course it will be sad to say goodbye to the fans there because I love them, but I can't wait for the walk-ons and hopefully some good performances and results.
"The World Series events are so great because we're promoting our sport globally and putting on a show for our fans all around the world.
"It gives fans in Australia, New Zealand, America and Germany chance to see their favourite players live which is really important.
"They are really important for players as well because we get to travel all over the world, playing in amazing venues in front of amazing crowds."

I was there when he (luckily) won the 96 World Championship, I expected him to win and perfom better in the PDC than he did as he moved over so early when he still had good form. Looks great for 60, today's players should take note !! Sure he was a driving instructor when in the BDO.
