Van Barneveld frustrated at misses at crucial moment during Smith defeat:''That's inexcusable''

The semifinals were the end for Raymond van Barneveld at the Grand Slam of Darts. Against Michael Smith, he produced a superb comeback but couldn't complete the defeat.

"On stage it was so weak," Van Barneveld told Viaplay. "He just punished that unbelievably."

Van Barneveld was down 5-0, fought his way back to 8-8 in a then evenly matched match. "I get chances at 13-13 and I miss them. That's inexcusable."

And despite a great run for the Hague native, the defeat hurt Van Barneveld. "If you're busy winning the tournament and you're feeling unbelievably good, then of course this is coming. And then you just have nothing again."
