Van Barneveld on possible cause after falling unwell at Super Series: “I have had a lot of stress at home lately because of my father's health”

Raymond Van Barneveld scared the darting world on Friday at the PDC Super Series when he fell unwell but thankfully, the condition of the Dutchman is getting better.

Van Barneveld lost his opening game against Ryan Searle on Friday and then had to mark the game between Jeffrey de Zwaan and Zoran Lerchbacher.

"At 5-5 it all turned to black. I have diabetes so that is the first thing that comes to mind. My sugar level turned out to be indeed slightly elevated, but not much," said van Barneveld to AD.nl.

"Presumably other things also played a part", he continues. "I have had a lot of stress at home lately because of my father's health. He had a cerebral infarction last Sunday and is now recovering. The darts also causes pressure of course. Moreover, the windows in my hotel room could not be opened and I didn't get much fresh air that day. But I'm fine now. "
