Van den Bergh on promise made by Wright during World Matchplay: “He said If you win this tournament, I will change my walk-on”

Dimitri van den Bergh’s World Matchplay win has had some repercussions for Peter Wright, which means that he is currently practicing a new walk-on.

Van den Bergh explains the story. "He texted me before I had to play the final of the World Matchplay. And he said: ‘If you win this tournament, I will change my walk-on and then next time I will do my new one on TV,” he said on RTL Darts Bullseye podcast. The Belgian eventually won the final against Gary Anderson.

"I don't know if he meant it," he continued. "I really don't know if he was serious, but I thought it was nice to mention it in an interview. I'll text him in a minute!"
