Vincent van der Voort has decided to not enter the qualifier for the World Series of Darts Finals on Wednesday October 16. That tournament will be held in Amsterdam from 1-3 November.

This decision is remarkable because Van der Voort will participate in the last two Players Championship events of the season on Monday and Tuesday. These tournaments are being played at the same venue as the qualifying tournament for the World Series of Darts Finals.
The Dutchman told Dartsnews that he has deliberately decided to skip the qualifier in Barnsley. ''I made this decision because we play the Grand Slam of Darts Qualifier on Monday next week.''
''That is a qualifier for a ranking tournament and that should always take precedence over an exhibition event'', The Dutch Destroyer refers to the World Series event in Amsterdam.
''I also have to think about my back, so this seemed the best solution to me.'' Whether the choice was difficult because the World Series of Darts Finals is being held in the Netherlands this year? ''Certainly, that's why I doubted it for a long time. It's a shame that I won't be there.''
