Van der Voort thinks aloud about darts retirement: 'At the moment I don't enjoy it so much anymore'

Vincent van der Voort is quietly considering the end of his career. The 47-year-old Dutchman is struggling with motivation problems.
Van der Voort has been around in the darts world for more than 20 years, but that could soon come to an end. "At the moment, I don't enjoy it that much anymore," Van der Voort told Viaplay.
"But if I were to say right now that I'm going to stop, I might regret it. Maybe in a few months I'll say I'm going to try again anyway."

Van der Voort is not among the top-32 in the world rankings for the first time in a long time. "Now I am dropping in the world rankings. That has to do with several factors, including a piece of motivation. I am now looking at whether I want to continue. In the coming months I'll make the decision."
Van der Voort hasn't played a match since 16 April, but he doesn't really miss darts. "At the moment I'm training a lot less," he said. "Normally it would start itching towards a tournament, but I don't have that now either."
