Dirk van Duijvenbode will start his third PDC World Championship on December 22 where he will face either Boris Koltsov or Jermaine Wattimena.
"Wattimena or Koltsov, that doesn't really matter to me," Van Duijvenbode responds to RTL 7. "I'm in top form and I play with a lot of confidence, so I just rely on my own strength."
Van Duijvenbode reached the quarter-finals at the World Darts Championship last year. "Obviously I hope to match or even improve on that performance, but my main goal is to win that first game, which is always the hardest in a big tournament. Hopefully I can produce some shocks after that."
Disbelief after Meikle loss
The 29-year-old Dutchman went straight out in the opening round against Ryan Meikle at the Players Championship Finals last weekend. "In fact, disbelief prevailed afterwards. I threw an average of 105 myself and he threw almost 109, which I never expected in advance. I was also very disappointed that I was far too sloppy in the last leg. Yet I have not been there too long dwell on that, now my full focus is on the World Championship."
