Dirk van Duijvenbode is through to the third round of the PDC
World Darts Championship but it wasn't easy in the slightest for 'The Titan' who prevailed over Karel Sedlacek in a 3-2 tiebreak sets win.
Van Duijvenbode had to come from 2-1 down in sets and survive a match dart at the bullseye as well as missing a nine-dart finish himself in a match which was one of the best so far in the tournament. It featured 12 180's and a 95.2 average from Van Duijvenbode too.
It was a flying start for Van Duijvenbode to begin the tie with 'The Titan' averaging 108 and pinning two 180's on his way to sealing the opening set.
But Sedlacek hit back superbly taking the second set 3-1 and after Van Duijvenbode missed two set darts in the decider, it allowed the Czech ace back for double eight to move ahead towards the finishing line.
But that he didn't reach as Van Duijvenbode dug deep to seal the fourth set and force a decider before it all unraveled for Sedlacek.
Going 1-0 up in the set, Sedlacek saw Van Duijvenbode then miss a nine-dart finish but 'Evil Charlie' then missed a match dart on the bull and Van Duijvenbode made it 2-2.
He surged from there with a 48 checkout on double 20 and double four with Sedlacek way back in both legs. Scare survived for 'Aubergenius'.
