Van Gerwen looks forward to return of fans to Premier League Darts: "I will do my very best for the people who come"

Michael van Gerwen is eagerly looking forward to the return of fans which will begin at the Premier League Darts later this month.

There will be 1,000 fans on hand for the last nights of the tournament and for a player like Van Gerwen who plays best with the crowd there, it will definitely help.

''The audience were missed. I can't wait for people to come back in. I don't know if we are completely back-to-normal, a thousand people is of course not very much. But I'm going to do my best for the people who come," Van Gerwen told RTL7darts.

The return of the fans gives Van Gerwen an extra incentive to get the most out of himself during the final week of the Premier League Darts.

“It always gives me something more to fight for. I am used to playing in front of a large crowd of people. If there is nothing for so long, then that gnaws. I can't wait for people to return. ''
