Van Gerwen rises to third place on European Tour Order of Merit after title in Wieze

Michael van Gerwen has moved up to third on the PDC European Tour Order of Merit following his title at the Belgian Darts Open.
The 34-year-old Dutchman could add £30,000 in prize money to the rankings as a result of his European Tour title in Wieze.

Behind Van Gerwen are Michael Smith (£52,000) and Jonny Clayton (£50,500). Gerwyn Price still sits narrowly second despite missing multiple tournaments with Dave Chisnall holding onto top spot.
At the end of the season, the 32 best players in the final rankings will compete in the European Championship in Dortmund. This tournament is scheduled from 26 to 29 October.
