The first four players to claim outright spots in the Final Stage at 2022 PDC European
Q-School have been confirmed with Day One of Stage 1A coming to a close.
Mario Vandenbogaerde is the standout name with 'Super Mario' finally aiming to join the PDC Tour, he took out Chris Landman 5-4 with a 90.81 average.
He has been joined by Swiss ace Stefan Bellmont who averaged 93 in taking out Ronny Huybrechts 5-3.
Andreas Harrysson who defeated Jeremy Van der Winkel and
Damian Mol who ended the run of Patrik Kovacs.
All four will now get the day off until Wednesday when they will return to attempt to win a Tour Card.
Due to the system being that the outright spots are confirmed with the last four and the rest completed by Order of Merit - the players who reached the latter stages have likely accrued enough points to win through already.
Stage 1B takes place straight after the initial action with COVID-19 regulations limiting numbers and Nico Kurz, Thibault Tricole, Roman Benecky and Ryan de Vreede are among the names involved. That begins shortly in Niedernhausen so four more names will be confirmed.
