Veenstra dumped out by Brooks as Evetts eases past Nilsson to begin Belgian Darts Open

There was a lot of intrigue for Richard Veenstra to play on the European Tour on Friday afternoon but he was eliminated right away at the Belgian Darts Open losing 6-3 to Bradley Brooks. The former World Youth Champion will now face Luke Humphries.

Veenstra fell behind immediately by missing two darts in the first leg. Brooks then ran out to a 3-0 lead. Veenstra brought the deficit back to 3-2, but then Brooks notched a 13-darter and an 86 finish to make it 5-2.

His Dutch opponent rallied with a 115 check-out for 5-3, but then Brooks closed the match with a 16-darter.

Danny Noppert's opponent was also announced. Ted Evetts will face him after winning 6-2 over Dennis Nilsson in his first round match.
