The PDC presents several awards annually at the beginning of the year for achievements made in the previous season. However, fans have a say in who receives one of these awards.
One award, in fact, is the Fans' Player of the Year. Here fans can vote for the player they thought was the best in the past season. Fans can cast their votes through Friday, Jan. 26, via this link.
The top-10 players in the world rankings are nominated for this award. Last year, this award was won by Michael Smith, who just weeks before had become world champion for the first time in his career. Luke Humphries appears to be the towering contender for the upcoming award, after "Cool Hand Luke" managed to win four majors in the autumn including the World Darts Championship.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
