James Wade has reached his fourth career PDC World Darts Championship semi-final after seeing off Mervyn King in a whitewash win as again 'The Machine' went on the march.
"I had some good bits at the right times and that was the main thing. Last time I played him, he had 116, 117 average against me so I was fortunate lightning didn't strike twice," said Wade post match.
Not looking back at previous semi-finals
Wade hasn't reached the semi-finals since 2013 and said though that he doesn't remember those times and doesn't really want to.
"I don't even remember them back then and that sounds really ignorant. It was a long time ago, so it's new times, new things, new players, new targets."
Proving Mardle and critics wrong
Wade said in his Sky Sports interview that people like Wayne Mardle don't think he's good enough but he has won more than he did in his whole career and he echoed those words.
"Wayne Mardle I love proving him wrong. All of reporters and news and people that are important in the game of darts will always write me off. He always tips me off to not do this and not do that, I've won more than Wayne in two weeks than he did in his entire career but he's hell bent on being a little bit silly."
