WATTIMENA WINS! Jermaine Wattimena beats Nick Kenny to reach the Third Round! What a win for the Dutchman
Jermaine Wattimena is through to the Third Round of the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship after seeing off debutant Nick Kenny in a 3-1 sets victory.
Wattimena hit two 180's with a high checkout of 156 en route with a tie against stablemate Dimitri van den Bergh to come for the Dutchman.
'Machine Gun' wrapped up the opening set 3-1 taking out 92 in the process with 75% on the doubles but after a superb opening, Wattimena went off the boil and Kenny sealed it 3-1 to level up the match despite both not finding their scoring power with no 180's to begin the tie.
But Wattimena returned to the foray with a second 180 and a 156 checkout to double his lead. His poor finishing lead to Kenny breaking to halve the deficit but Wattimena closed out the third set 3-1 to regain the upperhand.
A break in the form of a 56 checkout saw Wattimena go one away and he sealed it on double two with Kenny back on 119.
