Webster reflects ahead of first career attempt at Q-School: "It's not going to be pretty but hopefully I get my Tour Card"

Mark Webster is a former World Champion and one of the latest players who has dropped out of the Top 64 and will have to go to Q-School for the first time in January.

Webster has been seen a lot during the PDC World Championship on Sky Sports where he has resumed his role as a pundit and commentator and he admits that the desire and hunger is still there for him to potentially return to Alexandra Palace one day.

He is under no illusion though that Q-School will be a scrap but he hopes he can reclaim his place on the tour again and not fall to the side like other players have in the past.

"It's hit and miss hence why I'm going to Q-School. I'm trying to put the hours in around my shifts here. I've done abit, I probably could have done abit more but I'm not sure what's going to happen. I don't know what to expect, I've never been there," said Webster to PDC.

"I never thought it would come to it that I'd have to play in it but it has so we'll give it a go. It's been really tough, I'm a bit gutted because I want to buck the trend. I don't want to be one of those players who drops off the tour and doesn't come back,

I got to find something at Q-School by accounts it's a bit of a scrap. It's not going to be pretty but hopefully I get my Tour Card and we can go from there."

"I'm really grateful to Sky Sports. I've enjoyed it, I think they made me better at my job but the biggest buzz is playing and most pundits will tell you that. I just want to play, I will be so gutted if I can't get my Tour Card, I just want to get back here and play again."
