Michael van Gerwen averaged nearly 105 in a 6-4 win over Krzysztof Ratajski at the 2024
Czech Darts Open in Prague and he is seemingly a man in a good place after his World Grand Prix disappointment seems to be erased.
Van Gerwen spoke afterwards and said that his wife is with him and that they are enjoying the weekend away with pictures on social media of the duo sightseeing in the beautiful city. For MVG, it is another day spent there to enjoy himself as well as play darts which likely plays into playing well and a superb victory over Ratajski.
"Krzysztof played one of his better games he's played in the last few months, that's what makes darts good you know what I mean. You want to have opponents who play the best against you. Krzysztof is a fantastic player but more importantly I won the game and it was a good game," said Van Gerwen.
"I'm here with my wife. My wife doesn't come that often so we're having some great time. It gives you some energy and of course we're going to extend the trip for a day now."
He now has a 9-0 record against Ratajski and while he didn't know that, he said it gives him a positive feeling and one that he can take forward.
"I didn't know that but it's a good thing. I just want to keep doing what I'm good at and want to play the best I can on the stages. Of course in some patches it's a tough game but sometimes it's a lovely game especially when you win."
