Peter Wright will be involved next week during the first block of Premier League Darts action and he spoke ahead of the darting roadshow heading behind closed doors once more in Milton Keynes.
Wright discussed his chances and his thoughts on the block system that has been employed during the pandemic.
"I enjoyed last year's block because if you're not quite at form in the beginning then you can play yourself into some good form or you are going to get trounced by quality players," said Wright ahead of the Premier League.
"I let a couple of players off last year by missing a couple of doubles here or there but I got to the semis played rubbish but hopefully first thing is to try and qualify, that's the main thing."
The discussion has been on the back and forth between Wright and Michael van Gerwen in terms of the rankings but for 'Snakebite' it isn't the first thing on his mind.
"I'm not too bothered about getting in front of Michael (van Gerwen). I'm just enjoying playing darts and we are still playing each other in semi-finals of tournaments anyway so it doesn't really matter apart from Michael will have to go walk on first or I'll have to go and walk on first."
"He's just got to get himself mentally right and if he does, we're all in trouble."
As well on Van Gerwen, he touched on his comments about how he wouldn't win a TV tournament this year and his chances also in this year's Premier League.
"I want them to be annoyed. I want them to be playing at their best so if I can make them concentrate on the dart board to bring out their best, that's my idea. Of course Michael can win a TV tournament, he normally wins a TV tournament every year anyway.
"It'd be different if Michael was on form. Only because Michael is not quite hitting what he wants to hit at the moment, we are talking about the rest of us. Quietly the man to watch is obviously Michael."
