Peter Wright lost out in the final of the International Darts Open 8-4 to Gerwyn Price and as a result, his wait to become World Number One goes on.
Wright will likely now have to wait until at least the UK Open to seal it and speaking afterwards he admitted he wants to fight for it, he doesn’t want to be handed it.
"I've got to fight to become world number one, I know it won't just be given to me," said Wright.
"Gerwyn showed tonight why he is world number one and a former World Champion; he never gives up, he always fights."But I'm after him, and hopefully I can do enough over the next few weeks."
