Gary Anderson hit out at press and pundits last night after being asked again how soon is his retirement from the sport after seeing off Michael Smith.
Defeating Smith in a nailbiting deciding leg, he brought the form that he has shown throughout this season on the floor onto the stage albeit not with the massive averages but in winning form.
Anderson was defiant at the World Grand Prix and said he would retire when he wants to retire and not when somebody else tells him to. Before also saying about pundits that there is a reason they are sat talking about darts instead of still playing.
During the same interview, Anderson also hit out at the narrative surrounding Luke Humphries and how he doesn't get equal press coverage despite the accolades that he has won in the past year with press deciding instead to focus in some cases solely on Luke Littler.
Previously the Flying Scotsman has told press to stop overdoing it with the 17-year-old or he will get burnt out using Josh Rock as an example of how he was billed as the next big thing then suddenly crashed and burned from his high heights.
"It's what happens when you work for press and TV. You've not got a friggin clue, I'll stop when I want to stop. You just think what you see is what you get, you've not got a clue. People have lives, it's nice to have a life. But if you do this constantly, you don't have a life," Anderson said during his post match press conference.
"I know what I can do, what I can do and at the end of the day, your pundits have not got a clue. It's why they're sitting on their arses talking about darts instead of playing darts."
