Beau Greaves came, saw and conquered: Rhian O'Sullivan was granted only one leg as Greaves won 3-0 in sets. The WDF World Darts Championship will have a women's final between Aileen de Graaf and Beau Greaves.
O'Sullivan briefly manged to keep touch in the beginning of the match against Beau Greaves with a 16-darter, but then began a run of eight legs for Greaves until the end of the match. With two 15-darters and a 110 finish, the 19-year-old English rushed to a 1-0 lead in sets.
Greaves also ended the second set with a 15-darter. In the third set the 15-darters also kept coming after which Greaves could finish calmly. She won with an average of 90.77 and will play the final tomorrow against Aileen de Graaf.
Earlier in the evening, Andras Borbely and Adam Dee played the boys' second semifinal. The first set was unspectacular, where Borbely had the highest bottom line and won 3-1. Borbely seemed to have the acceleration with a 16-darter, but a nervous set followed. Lots of missed opportunities, tension and a 2-2 tie in legs in the second set.
From that fifth leg in the second set, Dee seemed to have a taste for it. He won the second set in 15 darts, and immediately continued in the third set with a 180. After missed doubles by both, Dee broke to 1-0. Dee then kept pressure on his own leg in 15 darts via a 118 finish. Borbely was able to take another leg, but Dee then calmly finished. 2-1 for Dee. Thus Bradley van der Velden will play the youth final tomorrow against the Irishman Adam Dee.
