Jacques Labre and Beau Greaves won the singles tournament at the WDF Europe Cup on Saturday. Labre gave France its first ever gold medal at this tournament with his final victory in the men's singles.
Labre had earlier narrowly defeated the likes of Alexander Masek (5-4) and Andy Baetens (6-5) on his way to the final. Then, in the final, he was too strong for Teemu Harju (7-2), who had beaten Nick Kenny (4-3) and Danny van Trijp (6-1).
The title in the ladies event went to top favourite Greaves. She was a class act earlier in the tournament by conceding only four legs in her first six matches. The reigning women's world champion defeated Almudena Fajardo 7-4 in the final.
