Mike Warburton had to produce some clutch finishing en route to book his place in the third round of the 2022 WDF
Lakeside World Championship seeing off Dave Prins.
Warburton produced 164, 117 and 96 checkouts to see off Prins en route and he knew pre game it was going to go all the way.
"I said to the wife before the game that this is going all the way this because Dave is such a dogged competitor, he just doesn't know when he's beat and I thought I had him a couple of times and all of a sudden he will have a little flourish," he said to Tungsten Tales.
"Just it was one of them, it was back and forth and the second to last leg I had an absolute shocker and those two 140's forced him into a little mistake and he hit 45 I think. Then when I was on that 78 and he wasn't on the finish I thought I fancied it, I knew I was going to take that out to be honest."
"I won the game in the other room with the bullseye. Every set went with throw. We've played pairs at the Welsh Open so I know what he is like, I knew what I was in for."
