As the road to the World Seniors Darts Matchplay continues in October, four more players have confirmed their spots following the latest Target Open Series events that took place on the weekend of 8th and 9th June in Reading.
The points Order of Merit players are set with the system changing this season to put more onus on turning up to tournaments and earning points. The two-day event at the Barbican in York will run from October 4-5 and the top two players from the World Rankings and Points Order of Merit have earned spots.
Richie Howson recently took over as World Number One and the holder of the Champion of Champions will be in York. As will Robert Thornton who sits second in the Order of Merit. He is the two time back-to-back WSDT World Champion.
They will be joined by two more familiar faces in Paul Hogan who is a three-time event finalist in 2024 and the leader who is Matt Clark who was ranked number two after claiming the Event 11 title. The next set of WSDT Tour events will take place from 26-28 July with Events 13 and 14 of the Target Open Series taking place as well as LP Metal Detecting Series 5. Plus further qualifying tournaments for the Matchplay with two more players confirmed.
Following that weekend, the top two players in the World Rankings and Points Order of Merit will take their place also at the World Seniors Darts Masters and the two qualifying tournaments for those events will be held in October.
