They did so with a whitewash victory over the duo of Rob Cross & Dave Chisnall in the pairs decider. They had a combined average of 100.2 in that decider as they subjected England to their earliest
World Cup of Darts exit since the inaugural tournament in 2010.
England looked good in the first match with Rob Cross averaging 107.5 in a 4-2 victory over
Kim Huybrechts and they could have so easily have gone through had Chisnall held his throw in the final leg of the next game.
This was not to be though with Van den Bergh claiming the break that levelled the scores. They then went on to produce the brilliance in the pairs decider to put themselves firmly in the reckoning with a semi-final place.
