Irwin admitted he has to set himself a goal and that goal is to one day become the world number one. If he tries to he will follow Cody Harris who moved over to the UK to try and follow his dream of becoming one of the world's best.
"I'm aiming to be number one in the world, because I want to do good - for my town, my family and New Zealand," Irwin told Newshub.
"You have to set yourself a goal. If you want it, you'll go for it and that's what I'm trying to do."
Irwin's qualification for the World Championship came during a memorable week where he sealed his spots in Auckland and the World Youth Championship.
"It was overwhelming," he added. "It took me a couple of weeks for it to sink in and realise that this is a big thing.
"All my family is proud. Depending on how well I do, this could be a good set-up for the rest of my life."
