As well as the World Matchplay, the race is on to qualify for the World Grand Prix. One of the players firmly in the race is Steve Lennon, the young Irishman reached his first PDC senior final on Sunday losing to Michael van Gerwen.

According to Burton deWitt, the statistician who put together this table he was told by Lennon at the European Tour event in Riesa that this tournament was his main motivation to join the PDC.
As a result him being in a tentative spot will spur him on to make this a confirmed spot before the cut off in a few months time. Players like Krzysztof Ratajski, Chris Dobey and Jelle Klaasen sit just outside the cut off so will be hoping some good runs can get them in.
The table will tentatively be topped by Jonny Clayton and Max Hopp who won their first European Tour titles a few months ago and are confirmed for both Dublin and Blackpool as a result.
