Michael van Gerwen through to face Gary Anderson in World Series of Darts Final

Michael van Gerwen will take on Gary Anderson in the final of the World Series of Darts Finals in Glasgow. 'Mighty Mike' dispatched 'Superchin' Daryl Gurney 11-8 to reach that final and it is a third consecutive one for Van Gerwen who will be not only against Anderson but against the crowd who will be willing the Flying Scotsman on to the title in his home country.
It was though a less than vintage display from MVG as he averages 95.5 and misses 15 darts at doubles, but it proves sufficient to see off Superchin and if recent memory is anything to go by, Van Gerwen always has a second gear that he goes to in a final and as does Anderson so it will be a very interesting final to round off the World Series tour for the year.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises. It happens, I have watched and heard Littler being jeered - Dirk van Duijvenbode in Holland, January this year. Where was your outrage then?
