Benito van de Pas survived seven match darts against Paul Nicholson yesterday in Saarbrucken and went on to level the match at 5-5 before claiming the match.

'Big Ben' admitted though that he had a lot of luck and that he didn't deserve to win. The Dutchman also said that his elbow was hurting so he threw faster and it was okay in the end. He also spoke about reaching the final last year and admitted he was a better player back then but that he will keep fighting. "I had a lot of luck - he missed the doubles and I didn't deserve to win," said Van de Pas. "My elbow was hurting and then I threw faster and it was okay. "I've been playing badly for the last few months but maybe I've been trying too much. I keep practising and do my best, and I'm going to see what happens. "I got to the final here last year and I think at that moment I was a much better player than now, but I will keep fighting."
