Van den Bergh was far from his best with an average of 85.25 with one 180 and a high finish of 144. The key part to his win was the finishing with 43 percent on the doubles for the Dreammaker who barring the final set wasn't really troubled by 'Pipes'. Van den Bergh showed his class in the first set smashing his way to a one set lead averaging 92 with 50% on his doubles without reply from Puleo. They both averaged the same; but the difference was the finishing which meant that Puleo as of yet did not get a leg. Puleo played well in the first leg of the second set; but double trouble blighted him and this allowed Van den Bergh to grab a break in the early going of the second set. 'Pipes' finally got his first leg on the board and it was a break of throw for the American who hit a 58 finish in doing so. This break of throw didn't come to anything though in reality; with Van den Bergh once again breaking the throw of Puleo in the requisite leg. 'Dancing Dimitri' finally finished the set off with a 32 checkout on double 16 as he went one set away from a straight sets win. In the following set, both players held their throw in the early going; with Puleo hitting a 102 checkout followed by Dimitri reeling off a 144 checkout himself. It went to a deciding leg with Puleo holding his throw with a 66 checkout. Puleo missed set darts and Van den Bergh pinned double 20 to claim a straight sets win. for more information about the
