Van der Voort defeats Van Gerwen to win exhibition event in Newport

Another exhibition event has taken place as the PDC World Championship edges ever closer with Vincent van der Voort claiming victory.
Van der Voort got one over his best friend, Michael van Gerwen at the event in Newport defeating him in the final. In the semi-Finals, ‘The Dutch Destroyer’ saw off Keegan Brown while MVG edged past Jamie Lewis. If this event is anything to go by, it shows as usual he has peaked at the right time of year. He will take on PDC Asian Tour standout Lourence Ilagan in round one in what could be a tough test for the Purmerend native.
