Ian White ended up winning the second of two Players Championship events this weekend yesterday at Arena:MK defeating Dave Chisnall 6-5 to do so in the final.
'Diamond' who is known as one of the best players on the ProTour hasn't done it for two years though and White spoke after his win to Dan Dawson about the strength of the fields, the top names as well as the Euro Tour. ''It's hard to win these'', said White after his victory against Chisnall. ''Today's gone well for me and I've played quite well.'' Speaking about what it's like for the likes of Van Gerwen and Anderson to be dumped out he said: ''I didn't know he'd lost, you just get on with your own game''. Dan Dawson spoke about his averages and how it's enough to win titles and White admitted he has had some troubles with averages but has practiced to iron it out: ''I couldn't get over the 93, it's just been practice, practice, practice.'' ''It's nice to win one'' said White, and for him especially considering he didn't have to beat Michael van Gerwen or Gary Anderson to do it. He was finally asked about big stage darts mainly the Euro Tours and he set a target for this year: ''I play well there, it just doesn't go for me. Hopefully this year I could get a couple of them.''
